Try Duolingo schools – you can assign specific topics and skills and it’s easy for students to join. It feels like a game, easily keeps track of student scores (seriously, self-grading!) and they’ve made huge strides in incorporating SLA principles in their activities. I’ve been using Duolingo with students for five years now, and I highly recommend it. I recommend giving partial credit for watching and then full credit for posting responses. Fair warning: you are not alone if you’re having trouble getting students to watch videos and post them. ![]() This is what I’ve been using all of distance learning and the students who participate love it and find it easy to use. Flipgrid has you covered for this–it’s a free platform for educators where both students and teachers can securely record up to 5 minutes of videos.
